Soft, easy-drinking German white from Peter Mertes, Germany's largest wine house (since 1924). Gently sweet, with citrus, pear, yellow and red apple, honey and floral notes. Lovely with spicy dishes such as kung pao chicken, teriyaki chicken or grilled prawns, or with fruit and light desserts.
Winemaker's Notes
Peter Mertes was founded in 1924 by Peter Mertes and has been based since 1969 in Bernkastel-Kues, a thousand-year-old town on the Mosel. Four generations later, the family house has become one of Germany's largest wine producers, exporting to some 70 countries. Liebfraumilch is Germany's classic soft white blend, made mainly from Riesling, Müller-Thurgau, Silvaner and Kerner; this bottling comes from the Nahe.
